WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE AT THE CEREMONY?
Please arrive at Duddingston Kirk by 12:30pm to be comfortably seated for our 1pm ceremony.
WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?
We kindly request that guests join us in Black Tie attire.
Gents, break out those tuxes! Kilts or trews are very welcome for those who wish to wear them.
Ladies, same as usual - just come looking fabulous! All colours welcome.
TRANSPORT
We kindly ask that you make your own travel arrangements to Duddingston Kirk for the ceremony.
We are providing buses to transport us from Duddingston Kirk to Borthwick Castle at approx 3pm.
We are also providing evening buses returning back to Edinburgh at 11:55pm. The bus will do two drop offs: Kings Manor Hotel near Portobello, and a more central drop off at Regent Road in Edinburgh.
If guests are arranging their own transport, we highly recommend booking taxis in advance as the reception venue is remote and Borthwick Castle doesn't have mobile reception.
WILL THERE BE A MEAL AT THE RECEPTION?
Yes! We'll be serving a 3-course meal for all of our guests.
Please make sure to note any dietary requirements in your RSVP response (you can find the link at the top of this page and also at the bottom) so we can ensure everyone is well catered for.
PHOTOGRAPHY / SOCIAL MEDIA
We'd love for you to be present in the moment with us during the ceremony. Our photographer will capture everything so we kindly ask that you don’t take any photos or videos during the ceremony.
Feel free to take photos and enjoy capturing memories at the reception! We just ask that you wait to post any photos on social media until we’ve had the chance to share our own first. Thanks for understanding.
CAN I BRING A GUEST?
Due to the intimate size of our venue and its limited capacity we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation.
Our wedding will also be an adult-only occasion.
We hope you understand and we can’t wait to celebrate with you!
HOTELS
If you're looking for somewhere to stay, we recommend staying in Edinburgh city centre which will be our second coach drop-off location. The city centre is full of wonderful hotels to suit all budgets. If you would like recommendations for hotels in Edinburgh feel free to drop us a message. The first coach drop-off location is at the Kings Manor hotel near Portobello which is also an option.

REGISTRY
Your presence is the best gift we could ask for!
However, if you wish to honour us with something extra, we would be so grateful for a contribution towards our honeymoon and have set up a wee honeymoon fund online which you can access here. However, please do not feel obligated! Your presence means the world to us and having you there is all that we wish for.
As mentioned above, Borthwick Castle doesn't have phone reception due to its historic thick stone walls, however complimentary WiFi is available throughout the venue to keep you connected.
